TEXT: Matthew 11:29 (NIV)

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

THE WORD:

During Jesus’ earthly ministry, He constantly took time for Himself. He got away from the crowds. He spent time with the Father by constantly releasing His burdens on Him. That’s how He found rest for His precious soul on earth. Indeed, He was gentle and humble in heart. 

Nevertheless beloved, have you ever notice that when you are stressed out or worrying about something, you’re less tolerant of others? You’re more likely to say something you don’t really mean. Today, God wants you to release your burdens on Him and live with a gentle and humble attitude.

As you choose to release your burdens and follow the example of Jesus, you will undoubtedly find rest for your soul and be refreshed indeed. You will find peace in your heart, and be able to truly move forward in the abundant life God has for you.

PRAYER:

Father, today I release my burdens on You. Teach me, Holy Spirit, to have a gentle and humble attitude. Help me to be refreshed indeed as I find rest for my soul in You today in Jesus’ Name. Amen
